Is Vegan Sushi Going to be a Thing Soon?
There is undoubtedly a food-conscious trend sweeping the globe – and that for a good reason. As more and more vegan and vegetarian-friendly options appear on menus, including in Singapore, vegan sushi is something that not many people would expect.
However, the world’s first (we believe) fine dining vegan sushi bar is about to open. Not in Singapore just yet – but in Las Vegas. At first, it may seem contradictory that the Sin City should have a vegan sushi bar, but then again, Vegas is known to stretch the boundaries.
Headed by chef Kenny Chye, who is a known restauranteur in Las Vegas, announced that he was opening a new plant-based restaurant that will feature vegan sushi. The restaurant will be called OKRA and will be located at the heart of the strip. Chef Chye is the driving force behind the vegan fast-food chain Vege-way. Unfortunately, there are no other details available at this moment.
